New bridge on Chalk Hill Road over Franz Creek, October 13, 1966
Per caption below photo in Tribune: "$114, 000 Span - This concrete bridge spans Franz Creek on Chalk Hill road replacing an old one lane bridge left standing upstream which was built in 1900. Through the efforts of art Ruonavaara, county supervisor, and the board, money was allocated to this needed improvement to serve the residents of the area and the board formally accepted the completed structure on Monday, Sept. 19. The bridge had been opened for traffic about a week previously. The old bridge was left for sentimental reasons."
