Funds for CARE, December 1958 Per newspaper article affixed to rear of photo: "Funds for CARE: Prescilla McGrew, president of the Healdsburg Junior High School Nurse's Club, hands a check for $30 to Laura Jo Nichols, school nurse, for CARE. The fund drive was sponsored by the Nurse's Club and the students of the Junior High School contributed. Members of the club present at the presentation were, left to right, Louella Thompson, Gloria Navarro, Faye Beatty, Joyce Hammack, Barbara Blakeley, Gail Brunner, Carroll McGinnis. The club members recently visited at the home of world famous cartoonist Charles Schulz, in Sebastopol, originator of "Peanuts". He showed them around his studio and drew a sketch of his famous character, Lucy, in nurse's uniform which he presented to the club." |
