Carmel Pedroni at Fashion Show sponsored by YLI, 1954 Set of related photos: 2009.30.0417, .0419, .0420, .0421, .0423. Per newspaper clipping affixed to back of .0417 photo: "The latest in fashions was shown at the second annual Y.L.I. benefit fashion show and card party held Friday evening at St. John's Hall. At the extreme left (2009.30.0417), Janice Craig models a summer print dress with the latest V-neckline, from Rosenburg and Bush. In the second panel (2009.30.0423) Carmel Pedroni fashions a nylon print dress over nylon paper tafetta slip from the Little Folks shop. Third panel (2009.30.0419) shows Mrs. Esther Pareti modeling an acetate and nylon pink dress with a button up collar and elbow length sleeves from Shelford's In the final photo (2009.30.0420 and .0421) Virginia Rebok models a bloomer style play suit of Playtone material. The collar and matching belt is coral and white stripes. Bruce Roby, with Virginia, shows what the well dressed young man will wear - a Cabana suit consisting of seersucker shorts and terry cloth top trimmed with seersucker. From the Little Folks Shop. General Chairman of the fashion show and card party was Jeanette Mertle with Jinx Biasotti doing the commentating. Little black paper French poodle dogs decorating the tables, carrying out the Paris street scene theme, were made by the committee headed by Gilda Santarini. Background scene and setting was painted by Jewell Gotelli and overall planning of the setting was done by Inez Scalione. Stores participating were J. C.
