Packages received by the First Battalion, Korean War, January 1953 Per newspaper article affixed to rear: "Cpl. Vernon Wilmer, left, of Baltimore, and M. Sgt. George T. Petty, Scottsville, Kentucky, admire part of the 42-package Christmas present received by their unit in Korea. They are members of the First Battalion, 7th Infantry Regiment, which was adopted by Healdsburg, in March, 1951. The outfit has been receiving packages from Healdsburg since that time. The latest packages were sent at Christmas, 1952. The First Battalion Committee, Smith Robinson, Chairman, are planning now for "Operation Easter" campaign to send packages to the First Battalion prior to that holiday." |
