Boat Club Dinner, November 1957 Per newspaper article affixed to rear of photo: "Boat Club Dinner - Over 200 attended the Healdsburg Boat Club's annual dinner at the Villa Chanticler Saturday night. Special guests were Supervisor and Mrs. Guy King, Supervisor Everett Lampson, Supervisor and Mrs. L. Shoemaker, Mayor and Mrs. Arthur Ruonavaara and city superintendent and Mrs. Waldo Iverson and Bob Trowbridge, Memorial Beach concessionaire. Bill Wolking, at the microphone, served as master of ceremonies. Pictures of the water ski show were shown following the dinner and a public dance, with a capacity crowd attending, was held from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. Shown above, left to right, Supervisor King, Mrs. King, Mrs. Len Williams, Len Williams, Supervisor Lampson, Mrs. Bill Walking, Bill Walking, Bob Stevens, president of the Boat Club, Mrs. Stevens, Mrs. Ruonavaara, Mayor Ruonavaara, Mrs. Iverson. Supervisor Lampson expressed his cooperation in helping to maintain water sports on the river and Mayor Ruonavaara advocated the creation of a state park where the Merryland Auto Park is now." |
