Korean Flag signed by Adopted Battalion, ca 1953 Per newspaper article affixed to back: "ROK Flag: Mrs. Aileen Crain, left, and Miss Clara Fay Smith, city hall employees, holding up the Republic of Korea flag which was sent to the City of Healdsburg the day before Christmas by Company C, First Battalion, of Healdsburg's Adopted Battalion. The silk flag will be encased in a glass frame and hung in the City Clerk's office where it can be inspected by local residents. The decision to keep the flag at City Hall was made by the City Council at their Monday night meeting. The flag was a gift to the City of Healdsburg as a "token of appreciation" for all that Healdsburg has done for the Adopted battalion. Enscribed on the flag are the signatures of the men and officers of Company C." Set of 15 photographs found in collection. Subject is Smitty Robinson's Adopted First Battalion. Most of the photos appeared in the Healdsburg Tribune during the 1950s. |
