North Western Pacific Train Accident, Geyserville, July 1954 Per newspaper article affixed to rear of photo: "Derailment: A burned out wheel journal spilled 10 cars of lumber all over the north siding of Geyserville Friday afternoon. The burned out wheel journal was caused by a hot box on the 14th car of the southbound NWP freight train. Crews worked until 10:30 Friday night building a "shoo-fly" around the disrupted 165-foot section of track to clear the line. No one was injured in the wreck." |
