Healdsburg Elementary School Carnival, November 1959 This is fourth of four photos. Other three are mentioned in Tribune caption but not this one. Boy front and center can be identified as Rob Lowe. Per newspaper article affixed to rear of photo 2005.01.589: "Hallowe'en Carnival. There was fun galore at the annual Healdsburg Elementary School PTA Carnival held Friday night at the school. The games and food booths as well as other attractions were very popular and the carnival was deemed very successful. Top photo [2005.01.589] shows Mrs. Don [Pat] Schmidt handing cotton candy to Christine Jones [ironically Chris was later to become Pat's daughter-in-law!], who went to the carnival dressed as a ballerina. Center photo [2005.01.591] shows four youngsters enjoying the always popular candied applies. Left to right, Roy Lowe, Bob McCord, Sam Wattles, and Dan Rochester. Looking wide-eyed, in the bottom photo [2005.02.590], at the wonders of the "Cat throw" booth are, left to right, Kathy Thornton, Debbie Susan Worley, and Mike Thornton. Mrs. Harold Hoskins was general chairman of the carnival." |
