Fr. Patrick Thompson accepts check for St. John's School from St. John's Mother's Club, 1954 Per newspaper clipping affixed to back of photo: " Presents Check: Mrs. Chris Scalese, center, president of St. John's Mother's Club, presents a check for $650 to Rev. Patrick Thompson, paster of St. John's parish. The funds were proceeds from various rummage sales conducted by the St. John's Mother's Club under the chairmanship of Mrs. Fred Tonelli, second from left. Present at the ceremony Monday morning were. left to right, Mrs. Louise Stevens, Mrs. Tonelli, Mrs. Scalese, Rev. Father Thompson, and Mrs. Frances Smith. Co-chairmen of the rummage sales but not present at the Monday morning ceremony were Mrs. Angelina Zanzi and Mrs. Bernice Pedrotti. The money will be used to buy desks for the new addition to St. John's School. An open house at the new addition recently completed will be held on Sunday, April 25 from 2 to 5 p.m. Father Thompson will bless the building at 2 p.m. Mrs. Tonelli, at the presentation of the check Monday, expressed her appreciation for all the assistance the rummage sale committee was given."
