Civil Defense Rescue Truck examined, 1953 Per newspaper clipping affixed to back of photo .0679: "Rescue Truck: Fire Chief Harold Sullivan, left, and Assistant Civil Defense Coordinator, Louis Luciani, check over the equipment on the Sonoma County Civil Defense Rescue Truck which is stored in the City's Substation now. The blue and white rescue truck, total cost of which is $11,500 including the equipment, was shown at the meeting of the Sonoma County Fireman's Association at Cotati on Wednesday evening, May 27, by Sullivan. Main discussion at the meeting was mutual aid, particularly the legal ramifications, between representative cities and fire districts. Ten volunteers from this area are needed immediately to man the truck which will be used throughout the county.
