Brandt Dinner Committee, November 19, 1953 Per newspaper article affixed to back of photo: "Dinner Committee: Members of the committee responsible for the dinner given in behalf of Milton Brandt on Tuesday evening, November 10 at St. John's Hall are, left to right, Tom Ratchford, Leland Engelke, George Leoni, Gene Thompson, Floyd Beffa, Frank Ornbaun, and George Smith. Not shown are Clem Auradou and Don Darby. Approximately 200 attended the dinner. Engelke and Walter Wright, Jr. shared master of ceremonies duties and Judge Ed Quinn gave a recitation of a poem written by him in honor of Brandt. A band consisting of Ratchford, Bob Izzett, George Izzett, Paul Elliott, Paul Elliott Jr., Engelke and Mike Weatherby also entertained. Brandt, stricken with polio this summer, is now at the Santa Rosa Memorial hospital and according to reports is doing as well as can be expected. His family is planning for his homecoming this Christmas." This photo is in a small manilla envelope, 4" x 5" and the envelope contains two photos (duplicates) and two negatives. |
