Set of 12 photographs, various views of awarding of $150,000 to Mrs. George Hildebrand, April 26, 1951 Per newspaper caption under photo (and accompanied by full article on accomplishment): "Mrs. George Hildebrand, first prize winner in the $150,000 national contest, receiving her award from J. S. Mitchell, right, divisional vice-president, General Mills, Inc., at cermonies Saturday afternoon. Standing next to Mrs. Hildebrand is E. H. Thompson, Assistant Division Sales Manager, Wesson Oil and Snowdrift Co." (this quote is under photo 2011.04.1053 in this series). Other people are pictured in other photographs but are not identified. Event was held at Purity Store (SW corner of Center and North streets). Mrs. Hildebrand had the choice of $20,00 cash or $100 a month for life.
