Tour of Soil Conservation District, February 1961 Per newspaper article affixed to rear of photo: "Members of the Sotoyome Soil Conservation District as well as State and County Conservation Officials attended a project tour of the District Friday afternoon. Viewed by the 24 interested ranchers and officials were irrigation reservoirs, flashboard dams, revetments, storm drains, concrete dams, erosion control dam and drop structures in the area. The tour was conducted by Warren Wood, district conservationist. Following the tour a dinner was held at L'Auberge Rouge with George Kaska, representative of the Berglund Tractor and Equipment co. putting on the program. The above photo shows the tour members viewing the flashboard dam on Walace [sic?] Creek at the C. H. Caspersen Ranch." |
