Registration for learn To Swim Program at Memorial Beach, June 1960 See similar photo, 2005. 01. 383, with newspaper article affixed to rear of that photo: "Learn To Swim Program. 270 signed up Monday for the first 3 weeks session in the annual learn-to-swim program held at Memorial beach. there are 186 in the beginners class, 61 in the intermediate class, 18 in the swimmers class and 5 in the lifesaving class. The above photo [2005.01.383] shows Mrs. Eugene Brown handing a registration slip to Lauretta Wright, assistant instructor, for her son, Gary. Instructors are Gary Brown, seated, center and Tom Rosen, seated, right. The Learn To Swim program is sponsored by the Healdsburg Recreation Commission and financed by the City of Healdsburg, the Healdsburg Elementary School District and the Healdsburg High School District. The next session will start on July 18." |
