Delivery of "Operation Magazine" packages to post office, November 1953 Per newspaper article affixed to back of photo: "Korea-Bound - Seventy-eight boxes of magazines and pocket books were shipped March 17, to Healdsburg's Adopted Battalion in the community's Operation Magazine. Above, Fire Chief Harold Sullivan delivers the shipment in a fire truck to Gridley Clement, assistant postmaster and Post Office staff member Guerdon Miller." Set of 15 photographs found in collection. Subject is Smitty Robinson's Adopted First Battalion. Most of the photos appeared in the Healdsburg Tribune during the 1950s. Newspaper clipping for 2014.02.016 is pasted to the back of 2014.02.013. |
